Summer Community Non-Licensed Programs Offerings

 In Community Programs, we understand the importance of play for youth and make it a priority in our program. Youth learn important life lessons through play such as sharing, playing fair, cleaning up after themselves and most importantly living a balanced life. In our program, youth will be provided opportunities to explore their needs, talents and abilities through recreation and club activities. Our planned activities will stimulate imaginations while encouraging independence and focusing on youth’s social, emotional, physical and intellectual development.

Youth Programs' George S. Green Summer Camp: 
Time Travel 2017

Location: Doris Miller Community Center

Dates: June 20 - August 11  

Fee: $50.00 registration fee per child & $150.00 for Camp Session per child

Times: 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

 Ages: 6-13 

Weekly field trips, T-Shirt, Free Lunch, and plenty of fun recreation activities, to include swimming!

Time Travel Summer Camp 2017

Locations:  Courthouse Way Community Center, First Baptist Denbigh, Marshall Courts Recreation Center,
South Morrison Family Education Center, New Beech Grove Baptist Church

Dates: June 26 - August 18

Fee:  $25.00 Registration Fee

Times: 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Ages: 6-16 years old depending upon site

**Registration will take place starting Friday, June 24th at each location and will be ongoing throughout the summer. All monies will need to be received at the time of registration. Money order or personal check are the only forms of payment accepted. Parent/Guardian is required to attend registration.** 

All participants in programs offered by the Newport News Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism must be registered.
